Sceponi, a Tuscan Farmhouse Rental

Sceponi is a delightfully converted rustic barn with truly fantastic views, set in the Tuscan hills behind Lucca. This pretty rental property is situated beside a remote country road, near to the ancient hilltop villages of Coreglia Antelminelli and Ghivizzano. The private grounds slope steeply and are wooded. The main vista has grass covered terraced hills in the foreground and the Alpi Apuane mountain range, stretching for miles behind. Marble quarries and snow covered peaks are sometimes visible way up in the Garfagnana valley.

The famous operas of Puccini and other composers are performed during the Summer Festival at Barga(10 miles).

Il Ciocco, an impressive sports and leisure complex, is nearby and the thermal baths of Bagni di Lucca are only 8 miles away.

There are also three thermal swimming pools with all facilities there too. During the winter months of December to April there is skiing at Abetone, a well known local ski resort, 30 miles away.

Local shop and bar with public telephone, are just a few minutes walk, in the hamlet of Gromignana. Other shops, post office,bank, hotels, restaurants, tennis, bike hire and horse riding facilities are all to be found in Coreglia, approx. 2 miles.

The accommodation on the ground floor consists of a well equipped kitchen/dining area with dishwasher, oven, fridge, microwave etc.

A living area with two comfortable sofas and a cosy wood burning stove to supplement the full central heating, during the colder winter months.

Also on the ground floor, a twin/double bed room with built in cupboards, and a shower room with WC, hand basin and small washing machine.On the first floor, a master bedroom suite with double bed and bathroom, facing the vista and a third bedroom/sitting room with two convertible armchair beds on a mezzanine floor.

Outside, there is a covered patio and a terrace with barbecue, sunloungers, table and chairs and a cooling plunge tub, facing the wonderful mountain views. This pretty, cosy house is available for year round rental and also long term.

Car hire is available at Pisa airport, which is approximately 35 miles away (car and bicycle hire is also available in Lucca approx. 20 miles) Mountain bikes are available in Coreglia Antelminelli.
